  • Its been a week

its been a week that we have arrived in CPH! weather is still very cold and rainy for both of our comfort. Husband has also started work in his Denmark office whereas for myself, i started to keep myself busy with cooking! Love it that I have my own little kitchen to do some cooking 🙂 Starting simple first with soup and sometimes maybe veggies.

Its a short week as there is PH in Denmark from thursday to monday! EASTER is here! One of the longest holidays of the year! The weather seemed to be getting slightly better, where we get to see a little more sun for now.

Some of my cooking receipes before i start planning for our weekends 🙂

    Breakfast menus
    Chicken soup with broccoli
    Fried rice with dumplings!
    ABC soup and asparagus
    Black bean soup!
    Kimchi fried rice

Feeling pretty good with my cooking! Especially when husband is very supportive of my cooking! I am so thankful that i brought my rice over from Singapore. Thats like totally our life saviour. Didnt know i would enjoy cooking that much, but it was fun. Looking forward to trying out more new receipes 🙂

Since it was the PH coming up, we had to rush to do groceries as some of the grocery stores are close on PH. Eating out is always a luxury as it is quite costly to eat out in Denmark. $30-$40 sgd minimally per pax for a meal. Hopefully i dont get tired of cooking! But on the positive note, we wouldnt be missing food back in SG that quickly! 🙂

  • CPH card

Since we got the 48 hours CPH card, time for us to spam all the attractions that we would like to visit as a tourist!

    Christiansborg Palace

This is definitely my favorite palace of all that i have seen! It has a 800 years history and till date it is used by The Queen for official events such as gala banquets and public audiences. The CPH card allows entry to all the rooms which we went: The Royal Reception Rooms, The Royal Kitchen, The ruins 🙂

Very high ceilings and nice interior
We had to wear shoes cover to protect and conserve the place
    Love the dining room!
Grateful for the sun today! What clear blue skies they have here in Denmark

    Black Diamond Library

Such a beautiful library! Definitely one of my study spots while i live here

    Garden of the Royal Library

Happy faces when we found the garden!

    Tivoli

The super raved tivoli amusement park!

    Finally tried their open sandwiches!
    Tivoli night shots
It was definitely worth seeing this place in the day and also night! How beautiful it is 😍

    Botanisk Have

Botanical gardens here! Very pretty green house 😍
Always making me laugh with his silliness 😘
    The insides!

    Rosenborg Slot

    Mini version of the castle
First time seeing a crown so up close
A sunny shot at this castle!

    Canal Tour

    The Round Tower

  • VACAY MODE ON

Day 2 in Denmark, we went to Norreport Station where there is a Danske Bank to open our bank accounts. This is definitely a necessity as we need to pay bills receive salary etc. But unfortunately, they say that account openings are done online now. So we are asked to head home. What a great start, our first rejection already. Oh wells then lets go for some food first before planning what to do for the week before dam’s work starts!

    Brunch time at 20 Grams
    Grandma’s platter and waffles!
Not forgetting a wefie from US 😍

Since we are in Norreport, we decided to explore the area. Of course the rain was not very helpful that day. Heard from Dam’s colleagues that the weather was warm and sunny till the day we landed. On the bright side, at least we have water resistant jackets, that kept us safe and away from the unforgiving rain at times while we are exploring Copenhagen.

First stop was the Torvehallerne market… OMGGGG did I tell you how much I love markets/food halls? Was excited to try anything Danish that we could find, but brunch was so filling that we just sightsee and made a mental note of the things we must try while we are here for a year. Because we are not a tourist for a few days, but a year, we decide to take things slow to explore too 🙂

Love that the Danes are fans of coffee too! Means my grandma would have her doses here if she visits. 😍
    Smorrebrod (open sandwiches)

Visited Nyhavn, the must go in Denmark. It was pretty but cause of the rain, we took a quick look, mandatory photo and video before we left looking for a shelter to hide from the cold and rain.

    Nyhavn

Day ended early for us since we are still adjusting to jetlag with the 6 hours difference between Denmark and Singapore. Slowly but surely, we will be able to adjust, one step at a time.

  • LEAVING TO OUR NEW HOME

    WE ARE FINALLY LIVING DANISHLY!!!!!

We are finally boarding the plane to fly to Denmark, the historical moment where everything that we have dreamt about, living overseas, finally having a space together, our own home is happening.

Last year, my husband was given the opportunity to head to Denmark for work for a year. and ALAS, after 2 months of waiting for the contract, 3 months of waiting for the residence permit, we are here in Denmark! It was really exciting but also scary as the both of us have never lived on our own before. It was definitely a story to tell our future generations about what noobs we are when we first came, and we know we will be facing many challenges and also obstacles, but well its only a year, I am sure we will be able to go through it and build memories despite the ups and downs.

First week is going to be a vacation for us. And very lucky us, we got very nice business class seats from our miles upgrade and so here we go to Denmark in our very comfy nice seats for 13hrs and also a nice comfy service apartment for a month before all the real stuffs starts.

So here’s to documenting our DANISH LIVES FOR THE YEAR 2022!

Farewell to our family and friends till i see them in denmark 😊
    Adam’s family
My other parents! And sweetest bestie 😘
    Our dearest friends 😍
Hello from our business class seats! My first EVER!
Its was definitely a luxury, to be able to lie and sleep while on a 13hrs flight. Grateful 😊

And soon after! We are in the country who has the happiest people and where we will call home for the next 1 year 😊

    Our first wefie in Denmark!

The weather was cold! 4 times colder then in SG despite it being spring already. Hope our bodies adapt quickly before the winter comes!

Ramen to Biiru! Already craving asian on day 1

PS: Am really thankful for all the love and also presents that family and friends showered us with to celebrate this milestone! Thank you for being all so supportive and definitely I would miss you all alot

  • Spark joy

Decided to do some packing today. Marie kondo it shall be. Still feeling the depressing side effects from my medication and recovery from my wisdom tooth. I will survive this!! 💪🏼💪🏼
