  • Living like a Tourist

Since it is a PH today, and hubs is almost there with his work, we are going out to explore the city as a tourist today! Excited as it has been quite awhile since we have been exploring. Decided to head to the Amalienborg Palace (the winter home for the Queen) to watch the changing of guards, explore and walk to little mermaid before we head to The Union Kitchen for lunch! Have been wanting to try at the union kitchen since i started following them on IG. Thank you hubs for reserving a slot for our lunch there 🙂

Amalienborg is really pretty! Both of us made it just in time for the change of guards at 12 noon!

    Changing of guards in process
    Amalien Garden
    The must see little mermaid!

Am actually very excited to read christian andersen books on the child stories he wrote 😊

A fountain nearby! Look at the skies! 😍
Started our lunch at the union kitchen!
    Bowl of pulled pork
    Waffle and fried chicken!

The food is decent but not like super wow! I guess being singaporeans, we are very spoilt with good food back home. Danes are not very big on food, but there are still varieties, just that maybe me and hubs is still not accustomised to the Danes preferences yet! But definitely would come back again to try the brunch! Its a small, cosy and crowded place! Good service, but if you dont like crowds, give it a miss

After lunch we walked to Nyhavn! Finally a sunny Nyhavn!

    The postcard worthy photo!
    Hellooooo from the SUMS!

Since we didnt want the day to end too quickly, decided to visit the Guinness world record museum!

The tallest man in the world who passed away at age 32 at 273cm 😱
    World heaviest man 😱
It was a very interactive museum, get to challenge reaction game!
Play with whack a mole 😂
Husband look so mild whacking the mole compared to me! 😂
Retarded light stuffs that we are fooling around with!

Got tickets for 4 exhibits, but operating hours here are usually till 5pm. So we kept the remaining 2 for another day since we had to walk over to city hall for it!

Had a quick dinner at GAO dumplings before we bus home! Actually on the side note, our house doesnt seem that inconvenient with the bus 🤪🤪🤪

Since sun only sets here at 920pm, we finally visited the beach near our home. OMGGGG BEST DECISION EVER. ITS SO PRETTYYYYYY! That i am SPEECHLESS AND AT AWWEEEEEE

Indeed therapeutic to see the sea with a unlimited horizon
Hopefully to more dates and runs here at the beach as the temperatures get warmer 😊

Weather here in Denmark is very erratic as usual. Started out super windy in the morning, and then super sunny, before breaking into a rainy day. I guess there is no weird weather here in Denmark, only whether you are well prepared for the weather.

TGIT and thanks for staying tune! One more day to the weekend! Whoots whoots!

  • One amazing fact

The sky here in copenhagen is so pretty! At 940pm now:

The shades are no joke 😱

Thankful that we are almost recovered from our flu and now back on track to enjoying our time here! 😍

  • Dam Fell Sick

Its been a week and a half that we have moved to our new place and almost a month and 1 week since we came to Denmark. Husband fell sick, starting with sorethroat and cough on monday. He must have been really stressed from work and also managing all the house hunting. London business trip also stretched him to the max. This was totally not what we expected but seeing him come down with fever and being down, made me feel bad. Cooked porridge for both days on Tuesday and today while he stay home for work. Thankfully it was not covid which was our worst fear in a foreign country. All the ginger tea and rest helped!

I am glad congee was done well! Even i myself enjoyed it, despite me not being a big fan of porridge. That shall be one of my favorite receipes now! Thank gawd we bought minced pork on sunday while doing groceries.

    My minced pork congee 😊

Husband was almost back 70% by Wednesday! So i went to my pottery class and enjoyed myself there. It was a really challenging and difficult thing to do, but it was nice to be outside meeting people and be able to socialise and also be out of the house at times. Looking forward to my pottery class weekly and also what i am able to make out of my hands! Time to research and also see what inspiration to give myself before classes next week

Waiting outside for class to start
    My first try

Teacher Emilie says there is a likelihood that we will make so much that we dont have to finish all our products! Hopefully i get to get the hand of it as the weeks goes 😊

  • Moving to our HOME

After weeks of search and camping at boligportal platform almost daily. 5 house viewings, we have finally decide on our HOME. OMG the journey for this house search was so stressful and it has caused so much conflicts between the both of us. I think firstly, its the first time the both of us are moving out of our own home back in SG, we didnt realise or know how compeitive or challenging actually rental markets are in the real world. Yes I am a very fortunate Singaporean, but of course, this has been a good experience for both of us to grow. One month is actually really short to look for something and also this is not the period where there is alot of supply. The both of us are really keeping our fingers crossed for some miracle. 2 days before the end of our service apartment, we decided to sign the agreement for the current home. Our priority was mainly the landlord and also that the house looks decent. We both cannot really be picky and choosy at the moment since we are running out of time. Wanted to take over Dam’s boss’s apartment initially, but his place is only ready in July. If we are to take it on, we will have to find temporary shelter for 2 more months before we are able to move in to our home. We love his neighbourhood, but our new home might be good for us too! On the bright side, it is near to Dam’s workplace!

6th May came really quickly and it was time for us to move. The whole packing and unpacking was really tiring. I am just glad we have settled down on a place where we can stay for a full year. Here is a snapshot of ALL OUR LIVES in 4 suitcases, and 4 handcarry!

    our lives for a year

Despite being a furnished house, there were alot of cleaning that we had to do, as the landlady hasn’t live in the place for a while. But we are very happy that she is a very nice landlady! Hopefully things continue to stay well between us and the landlady, we both are not difficult or troublesome people too.

Headed to IKEA the next day to shop for some items. Love it how our place was so convenient to IKEA and we bought loads of stuffs to SPRUCE up our home.

    Our shopping loots
    Bag number 2 😂

Slowly but surely, I am sure we are able to make our home more our HOME and also love living and hosting our guests. TIll then, lets start creating new memories in Denmark. One more milestone down! Baby Steps, we will both get there soon!

  • Its ZOO DAY!

Since it is such a long weekend, we have decided not to waste it and head to the zoo today. Actually most of the days we actually dont even leave house early. Holidays means time to sleep in. We need to start searching for our apartments soon, time seem to be passing by really quickly!

Breakfast before we head to the Copenhagen Zoo

    French toast and bananas

After replenishing our energy, time for us to head to the zooooooooo~

The first sign that we are reaching!

The zoo here is fantastic!! The animals here are so much closer to us in person and also due to the cooling weather, there are more winter animals and also it stink lesser as compared to SG.

Some of the favorite animals I love in the zoo.

    Majestic Lion and his wives
    Cute polar bear booty! 😍
    Penguins
Of course the panda! While we are missing lele from DK
Even giraffes are happier and larger here!
    Danish horses! 😂

Lucky me! They have dinosaur exhibits at the same time too! I killed 2 birds with one stone! Get to see cute animals and also my favorite dinoos!

    Wefie from the happy us!

Had snacks and lunch/dinner in the zoo too!

    Amazing hotdog buns!
Fish and chips and nuggets 😍

Fun Fact: Husband can have his beer here in Denmark and it will not get warm! That was definitely one of his best memories here! HAHAHAHS.

It was a great day of fun and also sight seeing! thankful as usual for the good weather and also that we both are safe and enjoying our Easter holidays! To many more memories together!
