Hello, I’m GENNNN

  • Chinese Radish soup

Cooked radish soup today! As per the name of the soup, ingredients are pretty obvious and simple too!

    1 medium Radish

1 chicken breast and some pork ribs

    1 carrot

    1 corn

    1.5litres of water

Seems like all chinese soups works the same! Blanche the meat to remove the smell

Prepare all the other ingredients by chopping them up

Sweet corn was such a pain to chop up πŸ˜…

Put them in a pot and boil!

Usually i will wait till the soup boil before bringing it down to simmer at medium to low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours. Can add in a teaspoon of salt if you think its not flavorful enough

  • Start picking up new things?

Been staying home for a while due to some personal matters at home. Being home makes me miss going for classes. Korean classes and piano classes. Thinking if i should continue to pick up korean. Hmmms maybe go for topik exam? Hahahahahas seem to be fun still to learn the language, even though i think i lost some knowledge but i can still rmb most of it!

Hahahs and time to pick up piano again! LOL LOL

    Playing with hubby! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Dinner with the family tonight! Didi bought dinner home! Thanks 😊

Shall think about it. Maybe go for topik exam in october. Hahaahahahs since its an added skill too 😊

  • Second chinese soup success

Got to try making the second chinese soup! Yong tau foo soup broth recipe. had been contemplating if i should use soy beans or not, but since its the most impt ingredient in a YTF soup. JUST DO IT

Honestly it was the easiest soup made till date. Even though its only been like the 3rd or 4th recipe that i have tried

    Ingredients for broth

    1 Handful of soybeans

    2 chicken breast

    1 teaspoon of salt

    1.5 litres of water

Replaced ikan bilis with chicken breast cause my mom doesnt like fishy smell and my hubby loves chicken breast.

    Process

Wash the soy beans and then put both the chicken breast and beans into the pot with water and start boiling them

Once it starts boiling(usually about 20-30mins after), you can bring down the fire to lower to medium fire to simmer the soup for another 1 hour (takes time for the soy beans to be cook)

remove the soy beans after 1 hour and continue simmering and place in your yong tau foo ingredients now

Once the ingredients float to the top of the soup, you are ready to eat!

    Tadah!

Hahahahs too much meatballs on my end πŸ˜… but there you go. A yummy, warm fuzzy yong tau foo soup 😍😍😍

  • Made breakfast today

Got the opportunity to make breakfast today! Did up my favorite wrap πŸ‘πŸ» tried scrambled egg for a change cause i figured sunny side up is challenging to eat in a sandwich!

    Ham and egg wrap

Pretty successful for a cooked cooked scrambled i think and am sure its pretty healthy a meal to start the day too πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Always put the scrambled egg in the first or second triangle for such wraps if not it will also be messy! Shall maybe go for cooking class as a hobby one day.

Cooking is like an exercise! Due to the heat, always sweat buckets! Only soup not so mafan πŸ˜…πŸ˜… thats all folks! Update you guys again soon

  • Where did the time go?

In a blink of an eye its already May 2021?

In the midst of covid, does time flies faster? Or maybe its cause now i am older, so the one year each year is alot faster? 😱😱😱

Its indeed a better year this year! Could see some improvements and progress but i feel maybe its still not enough. Gotta push myself even more!

    Weekends was mother’s day celebrationπŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Simple family dinner at home on both sides 😊 thankful for all the food and company with the family! Seeing smiles on le parents faces makes me happy too!

Lets all hope that this covid situation improves going forward!

And looking forward to a short week! Stayca with the bestie!!! *hope all goes well*
